Just to refresh your memory: I am a Greek girl who decided, after 5 years of living abroad, to test a new living adventure in Greece, my birth country.

Since November 2011, I live on Chios Island, one of the biggest Aegean Islands. Chios is a lovely island situated at the north part of the Aegean Sea, about 5 miles off the Asia Minor coast.

An introduction of Chios, the place of my adventure in Greece

It is frequently said that Homer, the great Greek poet,  was born on the island of Chios. That is the reason why many important places of the Island has an official name related to Homer (for example the aerport of the Island).

Chios is also very popular for the production of « mastixa », a unique natural product.  Mastixa or mastic gum is produced by a specific variety of trees, the mastic trees. We can only find the mastic trees at the south part of the Island. Mastixa is famous for its healing properties against many diseases such as stomach and digestive problems, cardiac problems or teeth problems. Here you can read further details about the mastic product. 

Why did I start my adventure in Greece, from Chios Island?

I didn’t really enjoy my life on the big cities such as Athens or Paris because it was very stressful, exhausting and monotone. I always wanted to give a chance in Chios Island.

So, I started my adventure in Greece from Chios Island because for the past five years that was my secret dream. The truth is that I chose one of the worst periods to go back. That is because the Greek crisis is not only a financial crisis. It is also a cultural and phycological crisis, a crisis of values and principles.

Nevertheless, I decided to get this dream more precise, to determine and test my life on this Island because I believe that if  if I don’t test I will never discover what is on the other side of the tunnel!

What does my adventure in Greece consist of?

My adventure in Greece is basically my project to build a business, be independent and live on Chios Island. I want to give myself permission to live where I want and be passionate with what I do for living. I feel lucky because I didn’t have to hire a coach, participate to a program or anything else similar to discover what makes me come alive.

More precisely, I am one of those people who dream of business independence and self-employment because for some years I have tried to find some interest in working for others but I failed!

How I want to achieve that

By building a business of web design and Greek Internet marketing and by becoming a part time business blogger.

- Web design and Internet Marketing: For this goal, I created Web Marketing Greece, a business website about all you need to know for Greek SEO. My niche is very precise: the Greek audience.

- Part time business blogger: For this goal I created Your Life Your Choices because I am passionate with travels, sports, books, tips and ideas to make you change your life!

The skills and passions that will help me work out and succeed in my project

First of all, I am an engineer and I love Internet and new technologies. My first contact with internet marketing was 2 years ago when I built a website with a friend of mine for selling photographs and modern frames. We started working on the whole project because my friend was passionate with photographs and I got passionate with the idea of learning a new field, the one of web marketing. The project was not very well prepared and we didn’t have enough time to build a business plan. So, the result was at some point disappointing. But it was just the beginning!

Furthermore, I speak fluently two foreign languages, English and French and that gives me the chance to be able to read and learn everything new is coming out from two of the top markets in the world. I am also able to read business books in these languages and that makes the field of my knowledge sources’ even larger.

Finally, I am passionate with traveling, books and sports. All these points and the fact that I love the sun and the sea build my project and my adventure in Greece
